Overview and Responsibilities:
CBS Newspath is seeking a Producer with a strong commitment to journalism to coordinate news production and newsgathering operations on its Desk team! The candidate must have experience in working with sources to confirm and verify facts and video elements, especially during breaking news. Excellent people/customer service skills are required.
The Producer must be familiar with all major social media platforms and vehicles for engaging audiences on a digital level. This includes - but is not limited to - Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and YouTube. You must be well-versed in the feel and best practices for social-friendly videos (including rights & clearances).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Manage the network's response to breaking news and responds to video and editorial requests from CBS broadcasts, owned stations, affiliates and clients
• Clip and publish Newspath video and scripts
• Assist in the transmission and distribution of live video, edited video and correspondent packages.
• Spot viral and pre-trending content and turn it around for our brand
• Overnight and weekend responsibilities
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years local and/or network TV news experience or show producer experience preferred.
• Requires strong editorial judgement & excellent writing skills.
• Strong editing skills a must. Avid preferable.
Additional Qualifications:
• Some experience managing people is preferred as this position does backfill for Desk managers.
• Requires highly developed relationship building skills.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a multifaceted, quickly-changing environment.
• A focus on multi-media content is required.
• Understanding TV newsgathering and transmission technology.
• Knowledge of regional television markets and station relationships a plus.
• Degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $85,000.00 - 95,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
