NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER/EDITOR

CBS Television KDKA-TV Pittsburgh is looking for a creative and dedicated Photojournalist to join the CBS Pittsburgh News Team. Candidates should have a strong dedication to visual storytelling with excellent photography and editing skills and assist our Multi-Media Journalists during live shots and on assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Photojournalists applying for this position must have non-linear editing experience, knowledge of file-based video transfer, and experience as a News Photographer and Editor
• Must have the ability to operate live bonded cellular transmit units, communicate effectively, work well under pressure, have a keen knowledge of situational safety, and meet deadlines.
• Must have at least 5+ years of experience in a medium to large television market.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates will be accountable for maintaining assigned equipment, including news vehicles, cameras, lights, laptop editors, and peripheral gear, and initiating repairs when necessary.
• Must be physically able to carry, shoulder, and shoot with a broadcast ENG camera (25 lbs. or more), as well as carry support equipment (tripod, lights, microphones, etc.)
• You will be forward-thinking and possess excellent communications and relationship skills.
• This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement with IATSE.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional news judgment and writing skills.

KNOWLEDGE OF CURRENT EVENTS
• Excellent writing skills are a requirement! You have a strong curiosity about in public relations, preferably a degree in communications, public relations, or journalism; one to two years of related experience (PR assistant or agency experience preferred); outstanding organizational skills; strong communication skills; and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong breaking news skills.
• Ability to incorporate social media and new technology into all the newscasts.
• Bachelor's or technical degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or allied field preferred.
• Drone pilot license a plus!
