Job Description

GoodDay Sacramento and CBS News Sacramento are seeking a part-time multimedia journalist who will embrace our Community Journalism initiative.
OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will have a proven and demonstrated ability to comfortably, confidently and conversationally communicate with interviewees and viewers. The ideal candidate will create enterprising and engaging content on KMAX's signature GoodDay program as well as CBS News Sacramento.
The candidate must be able to report scripted and unscripted features for GoodDay in both live and recorded formats. The candidate must also demonstrate an ability to guide viewers smoothly through accountability and solutions-oriented journalism and breaking news situations for CBS News Sacramento. Experience as a multimedia journalist is required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior on-air reporting experience required.
• Strong writing skills and understanding of broadcast news and entertainment reporting techniques are essential.
• Multimedia Journalist experience required, including shooting, writing and editing VO/SOTS and packages.
• Experienced in live reporting.
• College degree or equivalent work experience
and operated duopoly in West Sacramento has an immediate opening for a news editor to work for CBS 13 and our independent 31. Candidates should have a strong background in putting compelling stories together for our viewers. More than three years television news experience required. (Please do not apply if you do not have a background in television news).
Candidates should have a working knowledge of NLE platforms (GRASS VALLEY EDIUS is a plus). Candidates should be flexible enough to work morning's, nights and weekends at a moment's notice. We're looking for storytellers and team players. You must be very creative and have a passion for news. No phone calls please.
Qualifications:
•3 Years television experience editing news and special features.
•Sound journalistic judgment
•An eye for visual storytelling
•Deadline oriented
•Proficient non-linear editor.
•Excellent communications skills
•Ability to work any shift
•Ability to work on-site or at home
$18-$25/hr depending on experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $32.0 - 35.0.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
