Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
KTVT-TV, the Dallas-Fort Worth CBS Owned and Operated station, is in search of a morning newscast producer. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, excellent news judgment and a solid grasp of what morning viewers need from a newscast.
Responsibilities include identifying and creating forward selling content as well as working closely with reporters on story development. Must craft a newscast that includes more than just story placement. Producer will focus on smart transitions and breakout opportunities; strong tease writing; creative use of graphics; and advanced production techniques. Must be solid in the booth with effective communication skills, the ability to make quick decisions and handle breaking news.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two years as a line producer in a medium or large market preferred. Bachelor's or technical degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Must be results-oriented, innovative, demonstrate teamwork and be willing to work weekends.
