Investigative Executive Producer

Job Description

CBS News New York, the #1 station in the portfolio of Paramount-owned television stations, is looking for an phenomenal and experienced Investigative Executive Producer who will develop enterprise, investigative stories independently and in collaboration with the news team!

Primary Responsibilities:
• Leverage investigative skills against daily news to create quick turn reports that offer more context about the big story
• Ideate, research, and execute investigative stories of high interest to the tri-state area
• Break news with relentless follow-up and development of local sources
• Obtain and analyze data
• Write stories for all platforms including cbsnewyork.com

Core Skills:
• Must be a creative storyteller who can visualize and enforce complicated topics, and manage data
• Must be an ethical journalist with a track record of professional conduct
• Must be willing to shoot and edit video
• Must be curious and collaborative

Requirements:
• 10+ years of experience as a proven investigative producer in a medium to large market
• Journalism or related degree
• Must be willing to work an unpredictable schedule as assigned

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $175,000.00 - 200,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
