CBS is building a dynamic AR/VR Weather storytelling environment. We are looking for a leader with a background in weather, software engineering, and graphic arts to lead a team creating the next generation of immersive weather presentation. The ideal candidate can speak climate science, software coding, and Graphic design to a multi-disciplined team. The end unified product will be used by CBS News and Stations.
Other duties include training a team of meteorologists on how to present weather forecasting and explainers in the AR/VR environment. We are open to considering the office location for this position as any one of our CBS O&O stations.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:
• On-air weather producing experience
• An understanding of meteorology or related science
• Experience with graphic design for broadcast and digital platforms
• An understanding of software engineering and coding.
• Experience in augmented reality and virtual production
• Experience in project management
• Proficiency in managing a team with a range of skills
• Passionate about being a brand ambassador for CBS News and Stations
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S. Degree or equivalent experience in Meteorology or Earth Sciences, Graphic Arts, and/or Software Engineering
• Proficient in weather graphics production.
• Background in broadcast news and/or streaming
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record in order to operate a company vehicle.
• At least 5 years of experience in weather presentation
• WSI and/or Baron weather system knowledge and ability to employ all functions on multiple platforms preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $200,000.00 - 220,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
