Job Description
WFOR-TV MIAMI has an immediate opening for the combined position of Director/Technical Director. This single-operating position is responsible for the editorial and technical execution of all WFOR live and recorded-produced programming.
The main responsibilities of this combined position are to provide daily on-air production direction and physical execution of WFOR-TV programming as assigned. The operator will prepare the broadcast through automation protocols (coding) as well as prepare the technical infrastructure (ELC testing, mic checks, and camera targeting). Once a show is prepared, the operator will assume the single operator position in the control room and be responsible for the technical execution of the program.
Candidate must be willing to work a very flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This is NOT negotiable.
Required Qualifications
• 3-5 years as a newscast director and/or technical director.
• Control Room Automation experience is required including Sony ELC, Ross
• OverDrive, or equivalent control room automation technology.
• Knowledge of video and audio servers, graphics systems, audio consoles, and robotic cameras.
• Excellent computer skills with a high level of the INews production system required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic, positive outlook, and leadership qualities with the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities.
• Good conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
