KDKA-TV/WPCW-TV, CBS owned and operated station group in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a talented, multifaceted, proven Digital & Sales Marketing Manager to inspire and coach a top-performing sales team. The Digital & Sales Marketing Manager is responsible for executing a digital sales strategy that delivers customer solutions through an integrated suite of digital platforms, with an emphasis on new business development.

KEY OBJECTIVES

CBS Pittsburgh's ideal hire will have a proven history of growing revenue digital, developing a strong customer-centric sales culture and illustrating goal achievement as a professional value. Ability to strategize and work collaboratively with AE's and the CBS Pittsburgh Sales management team. The qualities that will distinguish candidates are: Coaching management style, creative selling ideas, transactional negotiation expertise, development of new business, strong digital knowledge, motivational leadership qualities, a positive mindset, and a professional persona.

SUMMARY

The ideal candidate possesses a passion for new media and enjoys staying up-to-date with its evolution, understands digital marketing strategy and thrives in a customer-focused team environment. This person must possess an entrepreneurial mindset, competitive spirit, and exhibit passion for marketing sales, both broadcast and digital.
- Strong communication and negotiation tactics with local clients and agencies
- Effective inventory management and pricing strategies
- Solid Role Model leadership of the sales team
- Collaboration with sales leadership team, AE's, other station departments and customers

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The ability to strategically plan, communicate effectively, build and maintain internal and external customer relationships and training
- Develop and generate non-traditional revenue and new sales initiatives
- Prepare and implement individual advertiser account strategy including revenue goals
- Regularly meet with local sales team to ensure their professional development and success
- In partnership with CBS Pittsburgh's DOS & LSMs lead weekly sales meeting; prepare and lead quarterly/annual sales planning meetings
- Help coach sellers so that they can become experts in their digital product offerings
- Act as primary negotiator for both stations on all digital business; review key sales proposals in advance to ensure client goals are achieved in a manner consistent with station sales guidelines
- Meet extensively with clients to develop/strengthen business relationships and drive client retention
- Support local sellers in sales presentations to multiple points of contact with direct client/agency personnel
- Coordinate various expense budgets related to digital initiatives
- Design and facilitate ongoing training for sellers
- Manage the Digital Sales Specialist to help provide support for the sales team and to ensure client goals are met
- Maintain current and accurate digital revenue forecasts for both stations
- Review, approve and possibly enter new insertion orders
- Be agile in responding to dynamic business conditions and station business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The DIGITAL & SALES MARKETING MANAGER position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- 3+ years of media sales management experience or 5+ years established digital sales experience
- Proven track record of developing new business
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- A strategic thinker that will help drive the sales department to new levels
