Digital Content Producer

CBS Detroit is looking for a digital journalist who wants to drive our digital, social, and OTT streaming platforms to new heights! We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment and possess a vision to elevate our online presence in new ways.

As a Digital Content Producer, you'll stand at the vanguard of content creation, collaborating closely with our Digital Content Manager. Your reach will span an array of platforms, including CBSDetroit.com & CW50Detroit.com, as well as our social media channels and OTT platforms. The position requires storytelling skills, research abilities, SEO knowledge and efficient copyediting standards. We value candidates who are self-starters that have an eye for compelling and viral content and enjoy cultivating a constant stream of ideas into articles and interactive content!

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
• Creatively brainstorm and produce articles & interactive content under tight deadlines
• Schedule and write social media posts
• Increase digital traffic through outreach to other content aggregators
• Engage with users to answer comments and addressing inquiries
• Work with Digital Content Manager to maintain the integrity of websites

Skills and experience:
• 3+years of experience in broadcast and/or digital broadcast
• Excellent writing and copy-editing skills using AP Style
• Strong editorial judgment, communication and critical thinking skills
• Experience with WordPress & Adobe Photoshop preferred
• Basic video editing skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
