Overview / Role Details:

A rare opportunity to join and help lead the award-winning KCBS / KCAL in-house creative team in Los Angeles, California! The marketing manager must possess a true passion for creating unique visual multi-platform marketing in a :30, :20, :10, :05 and rapidly changing digital, social, and streaming world.

KCAL / KCBS is the place to produce the kind of creative work most promotions departments dream of, where the focus is on the art of effective News Branding, Marketing and Advertising… instead of simple (often forgettable) ''promotion''.
Our team is seeking a proven creative leader with skills in studio and field production, cinematography / shooting and working within the Adobe Creative Cloud environment (Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder) to assist in managing, scheduling and leading staff by elevating our production abilities in a very competitive top market. This is not an entry-level position, and previous news marketing management experience is required.

A creative reel or links to work clearly demonstrating solid production knowledge with a focus on Adobe Premiere, After Effects and DSLR / Digital cinematography is required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Working directly with Director of Brand Strategy and Creative Management, you are able to expertly assist in managing logs, create and manage multiple production schedules, help coordinate and setup sometimes complex production projects and occasionally assist the team in creating all forms and lengths of compelling image and promotional content. You have extensive experience producing and crafting effective and unique marketing from script to screen.
• Lead a team and ensure timely delivery of network quality work under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
• Supervise all levels of a multidisciplinary team of direct reports and have the skills to jump in where and when needed to assist
• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of station promotional spot deadlines and playback. Demonstrates detailed understanding of station traffic and automation systems and accurate log scheduling.
• Ability to remain calm and manage projects under occasional extreme deadlines.
• Possess excellent communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks when assigned.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with all departments and levels of employees & management.
• Be a strong teammate who adds personality and abilities to our department of dedicated Producers, Photographers, Editors and Designers.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 - 125,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
