Job Description
CBS2 Television / KCAL 9 Television, a TV station duopoly in Southern California, is looking for a Director of MEP Systems (Full-time). The position requires Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems experience and is responsible for leading all aspects of the design, installation, maintenance, and operation of critical systems at the Broadcast Center. The Director of MEP Systems reports directly to the Director of Operations and Engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supporting 24/7 operations for CBS Network – West Coast, and KCBS & KCAL stations. This includes up keeping all electrical systems (emergency generators, ATS units, UPS units, electrical panels, transformers, 10,000-gallon AST), HVAC chillers, and cooling distribution.
• Coordinate the MEP aspects of the 212,000 square foot facility interior and immediate exterior spaces.
• Coordinate any maintenance windows that could impact KCBS/KCAL, CBS West Coast Network
• Operations, CBS West Coast News Bureau, Newspath, CBS Program Practices, among other divisions.
• Implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure that MEP systems, including fire suppression systems, are installed and maintained to the highest standards.
• Identifying and resolving technical and operational problems with MEP systems.
• Managing the budget for projects, maintenance, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with vendors and trades to complete repairs and projects on time and within budget.
• Ensuring that all MEP systems comply with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
• Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA and Fire Safety regulations.
• Must have deep knowledge of Federal/State/Local regulations and codes, and maintain strict building compliance with pertinent laws and codes.
• Lead all aspects of renovation projects and coordinate safety inspections.
• Assist the Finance team in forecasting department spending and handling vendor payments.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering (MEP, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) is helpful.
• Knowledge: Possessing a strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
• Experience: Significant experience in MEP management, installation, and/or maintenance is essential.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and regulations.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical and operational problems.
• Project Management Skills: Ability to manage projects from start to finish.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $170,000.00 - 190,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
