Job Description
The Creative Director, CBS News & Stations will lead in all areas of visual communication. We are looking for a hands-on, design junkie that brings design initiatives to life! Visuals are what you do. You are proficient in all mediums and yearn to carry your designs through. The ideal candidate is good with people and knows how to further creative. A top-tier designer with extraordinary vision, craft and concepts. You can barely watch television without rewinding and frame advancing anything that you're not certain how it was built!
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Capable of synthesizing a project brief and translating to encouraged visual language.
• Hands-on design capabilities, responsible for major design initiatives.
• Experience with facilitating outside vendors, free-lance personnel, etc.
• Execution of brand design systems, group-wide graphics packages, breaking news packages and major event creative.
• Content development packaging and visual identity.
• Deep working knowledge of Chyron Prime, Viz, Cinema 4D and After Effects.
• Collaborate and develop brand identity across CBS Stations, CBS News and CBS Marketing.
• Own the direction of and partner with vendors to advance our purpose and aesthetic within set design, AR/VR and other tools and systems that support news presentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications, Design, Fine Arts or related field.
• A proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis in motion design.
• A tech-savvy problem solver capable of applying technology to advance design process and workflows.
• Broadcast experience, including on-air graphics and templating recommended.
• Ability to communicate and present concepts in a clear and engaging way.
• A dedicated, creative problem-solver able to build style frames and storyboards to visually guide the creative process.
• Whip smart, dedicated to public service, and a fan of local news.
• Portfolio and references required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $160,000.00 - 190,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
