The ViacomCBS O&O duopoly in New York has an immediate opening for a dynamic automated Newscast Director. If you have strong leadership in and out of the control room while fulfilling production needs, we are looking for you to join our team!
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for handling communications and scheduling for incoming feeds and hard media acquisitions in the News Division. This is a 24/7 operation and will require availability on the weekend, overnight, and overtime as needed. This role is not remote and will be required to be onsite at the New York location full-time.
As a Coordinating Director Technical Director, you will collaborate with the lighting director to improve existing camera shots as needed, in addition to news leadership to evolve the aesthetic of newscasts, specials, and more. Develop standard processes for the use of new shots and build a consistent look across all newscasts. Lead on identifying problems and work toward collaborative solutions.
Candidate must be willing to work a very flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. This is NOT negotiable. Vacations, holidays, and personal time are per the combined CBAs as determined at the time of hire.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3-5 years in a top 20 market as a newscast director and technical director.
• Previous Control Room Automation experience is required including Sony ELC and Ross OverDrive.
• Knowledge of video and audio servers, graphics systems, audio consoles, and robotic cameras.
• Excellent computer skills with a high level of the iNews production system required.
• Ability to work in a fast fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
• Good work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership qualities with the ability to handle various tasks and priorities.
• Good conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $142,376.00 - 190,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
