Job Description

KCNC-TV, the CBS Owned and Operated station in Denver, is seeking an phenomenal, experienced, passionate and driven Assignment Editor to help develop stories for all of our platforms at CBS Colorado. The ideal candidate will be passionate about covering breaking news and enterprise stories which encompass the station's brand of Covering Colorado First.

Core responsibilities:

Manage news crews and assignments

Must be able to manage logistics under intense deadlines

Monitor phones, police scanners and social media

Contribute to daily editorial meetings and thrives on the newsgathering process by pitching stories

Review news releases and monitor local news sources

Research, write and create content for social media and station website

Requirements:

Prior experience as an assignment editor is required.

Desirable qualifications:

College degree is preferred, but not required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 65,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
