Overview and Responsibilities:
The Anchor/Reporter will provide weather reports for KPIX-TV news programs
and for KPIX digital platforms. Anchors must be able to produce weather information and present
it to viewers. Ability to capture, assemble and explain information on all stories assigned to you for
broadcast and digital. Occasionally may be assigned to cover stories outside the station - on
location. Write clearly and interestingly and use video and graphics to illustrate facts and ideas in
the story. Will interview guests appropriate to the stories being presented. The anchor should be up
to date with current events. Will also be available to make personal appearances to promote the
station. This position is represented by AFTRA.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have at least five years of television experience, with a minimum of 3 years as a weather reporter, working in local market or network television news.
• Must have an in-depth presentation and oral communication skills.
• Proven success in digital content development and engagement key.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel.
• Do live reporting in an engaging and effective manner.
• Familiarity with the Bay Area is very helpful.
• College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Weather computer and graphics skills are required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to operate the keyboard with accuracy and speed and have a valid driver's license in
order to drive to reporting locations.
