Job Description

CBS4 in Miami is seeking a Morning News Anchor. Ideal candidate is an engaging storyteller not only on television, but on multiple platforms including OTT and must be able to anchor in the field. We are looking for someone who isn't afraid to ask the tough questions while being engaging, passionate and confident. We need an anchor who can help lead the team and ensure all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. This person should also be a team player who isn't afraid to break away from the template and connect with our news consumers.
Other duties include:

Anchor morning and noon broadcasts.

Anchor other content for digital platforms including OTT

Pitch and write local enterprise content.

Gather news in the newsroom and out in the field, writing news scripts for all platforms.

Responds to breaking news and capable of anchoring multiple hours with no scripts

Preforms special projects and other duties assigned.

Participates in promotional activities including public appearances that represent the station.

Conducts live interviews during the newscasts

Interacts with viewers and users on social media platforms.

Coach and mentor new employees.

Candidate who can edit and shoot is a plus.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

College degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years anchoring experience.

Strong professional social media skills.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
