OVERVIEW / ROLE DETAILS:

CBS News Miami is seeking an aggressive, creative go-getter to be the next Assistant News Director of our morning newscasts across all our platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Leading the digital producers
- Coordinate content planning between news, digital, promotion, production, design, newspaper partners, and other stations in the group

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years experience in broadcast news
- 3+ years management experience
- Experience with OTT streaming

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A highly motivated leader who can help coordinate the overnight and morning daypart operations.
- Ability to lead a strong team of producers, reporters, and anchors.
- Knowledge of the morning newscast audience and challenges presented by this time-period and the kind of stories viewers find interesting
- Must be a self-starter, be highly proactive; and have a strong editorial voice both in the editorial meetings and in the newsroom.
- Must have strong knowledge of show production
- Ability to showcase using content and graphics
- Ability to implement the vision of the television station in the newscast.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, as well as a strong ability to copy edit reporter scripts.
- Must be able to build news content and foster a creative work environment.
- The ideal candidate is a natural leader.
- Experience as an Executive Producer preferred.
