Position Overview

The MPD Sr. Manager of Media Distribution is responsible for the daily operations of their team; The Media Distribution team is responsible for creation and distribution of content for internal and external clients, in all markets! This includes development and management of Mangers, Assistant Managers, Sr. Media Distribution Specialists and Media Distribution Specialists. The Sr. Manager works closely with Senior Management to refine & develop workflows and propose future systems enhancements. The Sr. Manager also works closely with inter-departmental Managers on all production and distribution workflow issues.

Primary Responsibilities
• Handle day-to-day operations for media distribution, in all markets, for both internal and external clients.
• Work with Business Development to build relationships with external clients.
• Responsible for interviewing and hiring new employees.
• Training all new software programs, technology, workflow and client services.
• Assist with training inter-departmental teams.
• Create and distribute training materials, including liaising with other internal department heads to ensure complete understanding and documentation of overall Department workflows.
• Identify workflow challenges and technological advancements to suggest corrective actions.
• Act as a liaison between teams to solve problems.
• Assist with systems development and testing.
• Identify improvements and enhancements for systems.
• Coordinate with Billing and Business Development to set up new clients, rates and services.
• Organize weekly team meetings and team building activities.
• Run and distribute weekly and monthly reports for Media Distribution team and Senior Management.
• Collect and organize data for reporting and metrics.
• Handle scheduling, time off, assignments and payroll.
• Facilitate and streamline workflows for greater efficiency.
• Work with internal billing department to ensure all deliverables are billed correctly and on a timely basis.
• Assist with budgeting for external client projects.
• Research information delivering results to senior management.
• Support for digital asset management initiatives and organization.
• Fill in for Senior Management when they are out of the office or unable to attend meetings
• Supervise Managers and troubleshoot advanced day-to-day issues.
• Assist customers with concerns, questions or complaints.
• Exploration, creation and recommendation of development opportunities for Managers, Assistant Managers, Sr. Media Distribution Specialists and Media Distribution Specialists
• Address performance issues for immediate reports, and work with the employee on development and resolution.
• Work closely with the Manager of Media Distribution to address performance issues and development for Media Distribution Specialists.
• Recommend and implement workflow and procedural changes as the technology changes.

Basic Qualifications
• A passion for media and entertainment is a must!
• 7 years experience with customer service, content management practices, video/audio formats and standards
• At least 5 years of managing a team
• Experience in the media & entertainment industry relating to one or more of the following areas – metadata management, digital video and audio, asset management systems/platforms, multimedia formats, international or syndication
• Intermediate MS Excel skills
• Thorough understanding of production and media supply chain's workflows, and standard methodologies
• Detailed understanding of video and audio specifications
