Meteorologist (per diem)

CBS Chicago, the #3 market station in the Paramount portfolio of television stations, is looking for a dynamic, innovative and experienced meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather team. This is a per diem position.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver weather reports and forecasts for on-air and on digital platforms at regularly scheduled times, either live or recorded. Deliver severe weather updates as needed.
• Analyze weather data and synthesize the information into clear, easy-to-understand graphics.
• Present weathercasts from the studio or on-location.
Requirements:
• A degree in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology
• Must be skilled with telling a comprehensive and clear weather story, especially during extreme weather events
• Must be skilled at posting weather-related information on social media channels
• Must have 5+ years of related experience
• NWA and/or AMS Certified meteorologist preferred
This is a per diem, union-represented position.

Additional Information:
Hourly Pay Range: $55.28 - $64.90 per hour
The hiring range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington State, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
