DESCRIPTION:

DESCRIPTION: CBS News is looking for a Courier to support our News operation and Mailroom, assisting with the retrieval and distribution of packages including editorial related gear throughout the DC/MD/VA area. This position will report to the Operations Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with the editorial assignment desk on the coordination and scheduling of pick- ups/deliveries
• Work closely with corporate facilities to secure deliveries from our vendor partners
• Record and report necessary maintenance on company vehicle
• Provide assistance and back up the mailroom as needed
• Transport editorial colleagues as needed to/from satellite and assignment locations

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Be flexible enough to adjust and operate within the fast paced environment of a news operation
• Ability to multitask and demonstrate sound judgement when working independently
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and calmly under deadline pressure with various levels of the organization
• Strong attention to detail
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance for the White House and other governmental agencies
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a on a consistent basis
• Knowledge of DC/MD/VA traffic patterns and ability to navigate is a plus
• Willing and able to work various shifts (day/night) as news dictates within our 24/7 broadcast environment
