Job Description
The Broadcast Associate for CBS Saturday Morning is a hybrid position split between work from home (with producers, senior producers, the director, graphic artists and the executive producer) and work at the ''hub'' of the unit at the Broadcast Center in New York City. The schedule may involve a rotation that includes both working late on Friday nights and/or early Saturday morning. Those shifts are usually in-person at the Broadcast Center.

Responsibilities: Both in the office and from home
• Assist producers and senior staff in various capacities (transcribe tape, retrieve archive tape, research stories, assist with setting up and covering shoots as well as office administrative duties)
• Regularly check various sources (AP Photos, Alamy, Reuters, Getty, Newspath, Archives) for most appropriate video and stills to support Producer's scripts. Assist with finding music for various segments as well.
• Work closely with the CBS Rights & Clearances department to ensure the legality of using the footage.
• Gather footage and elements to help produce a variety of elements in the broadcast. To accomplish this, the BAs work closely with the producers and writer and offer up ideas of visuals and potential elements. Must have good time management as this duty often takes a few days to license photos/video and it is imperative to make air on the current Saturday.
• Work with broadcast producers to help with various tasks in the control room during the live broadcast on Saturday morning.
• Assist with field production of stories – arranging shoots, working with editors on visuals for these commentaries.
• Book travel and transportation arrangements for CBS Saturday Morning guests, talent and crews.
• Work schedule varies but always requires very late hours on Friday and/or early Saturday morning for that weekend's broadcast.

Qualifications:
• Background in journalism is desired
• Strong interest in Arts and Culture is desired
• Must be willing to work variety of schedules including nights and weekends
• Must have a good sense of time management to meet various deadlines
• Must be able to able to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a team player

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $45000.0 - 50000.0.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
