Associate Producer - Eye On America

Job Description

THE CBS EVENING NEWS WITH NORAH O'DONNELL is seeking a hard-working, creative, and enterprising Associate Producer to join the EYE ON AMERICA unit.

This Associate Producer will work closely with the EYE ON AMERICA team. This candidate will collaborate with producers and correspondents on the planning and execution of the pieces airing as part of this franchise. The AP will be responsible for helping to track and manage story pitches. This person will catch pieces with an editor and shoot interviews and elements in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience both in the field and in the edit room, possess a firm command of journalistic standards and attention to detail. Excellent newsgathering and time management skills are a necessity. They should have previous experience working for a live news broadcast and be a great teammate in the newsroom.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of journalism experience in live television news
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment under intense deadlines
• Strong background in video production and experience working with editors in assembling tape packages
• Clear and concise script writing
• Proficiency in story structure, visual graphics, and elements
• Deep familiarity and experience using research tools like Lexis Nexis
• Understanding of newsgathering and transmission technology

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $60,000.00 - 70,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
