Division Overview:
Our Distribution & Operations team within the ViacomCBS Digital Media group is charged with distribution and monetization of premium ViacomCBS content across the spectrum of digital partnerships and business models. These include our direct-to-consumer subscription service Paramount +, SVOD, as well as digital MVPD products and partnerships. We are a diverse and agile group that works in an exciting and fast-paced environment, working cross-functionally across different departments and partnering with multiple technology/distribution partners to ensure that we deliver ViacomCBS content to consumers, however and wherever they want to consume it.

Role Details:

We are seeking an experienced Media Support Specialist who will be highly focused on systems engineering processes in a dynamic 24/7 operation on our overnight shift (12a-8a). Candidate will have knowledge of television broadcasting and digital media technologies gained over at least 3 to 4 years of professional work experience. This candidate must demonstrate the ability to design, implement, troubleshoot audio/video as well as network systems. Adept at product research, evaluation from test evaluation to development. The candidate will support and coordinate internal and external maintenance needs for all media technology including: live stream ingest, high speed electronic delivery, broadcast standards and equipment, non-linear video editing systems, legacy VTR, various video transcoding and QC technologies, and QA across multiple OTT platforms

Your Day-to-Day:

Create/test/modernize workflows for production and publishing to ViacomCBS Streaming platforms, collaborating with internal and external partners, stakeholders and vendors

Act as escalation path for all hardware and software systems including SAN/NAS servers, Aspera Enterprise, Telestream Live Capture, MACCAPTION, and Transcoding nodes

Provide training and documentation of newly developed methods and processes
Oversee live event video operations, recording and streaming for tentpole events

Assist in the development of workflows for new publishing requirements such as 4K/UHD, HDR, HDR10

Qualifications:

You have:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or 3-4 years training & experience in Post Production engineering

3-4 years of experience working with Apple OSX or Microsoft Windows based computers systems in a production environment

3-4 years of experience working with video editing, composing and production applications and production workflows

Well versed in video codecs, compression, file format standards and video transformation

Working knowledge of frame rate conversion, Inverse Telecine, standard broadcast video and audio requirements including The Calm Act and CC & SAP requirements

Able to communicate technical information effectively – both written and verbally

Ability to work in a fast pace, production critical team environment

Must be efficient, well organized, detailed oriented and have good follow through skills

Strong attention to detail, well organized, strong follow through skills and the ability to multitask are all necessities
