Role Details:

CBS Interactive is looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with strong analytics implementation skills, business acumen, and strategic thinking to join our Measurement Operations group.

Data plays a central role at CBS Interactive, and as part of the Data & Insights Group (DIG), our Measurement Operations team is a crucial part of our success. It drives business, product, and operational decisions by providing rich data, strategic insights and analytical products. We are looking for a Director of Distribution Measurement who is passionate about data and the content distribution business, and who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The position is anchored around creating measurement solutions on our growing portfolio of distributed content that offer Viacom and CBS content on various devices and services..

The ideal candidate should have the interest and ability to collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure our measurement and data is inclusive of our entire audience footprint. This requires expert-level knowledge of our analytics platform (Adobe Analytics / Omniture) and the ability to ensure that all implementations and incoming data conform to our data governance as well as industry standards. The candidate must also possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, a customer-service mindset and the ability to easily translate business needs to technical requirements.

Your Day-to- Day:
• Form a cohesive measurement and data strategy to drive audience insights across all distribution points, including vMVPDs, channels partners and TV Everywhere offerings
• Partner with business intelligence leads to identify key performance metrics, business questions and reporting needs
• Work with internal or external partners to process, organize, and connect various data sources
• Communicate effectively to end users of the data platform how to retrieve the data needed to answer business questions

Key Responsibilities:
• Build measurement and data framework used to answer business questions across all distribution points, including vMVPDs, channels partners and TV Everywhere offerings
• Represent the interests of the Data and Insights Group (DIG) during pending deals and renewals, providing necessary feedback on partner requirements
• Drive multiple measurement projects with our distribution partners in parallel
• Lead collaboration with our Data Engineering team to ingest incoming data from multiple sources
• Provide information and documentation for our BI team that enables them to access and understand the data
• Engage with business leads to leverage the value of data to drive and influence the business
• Troubleshoot data-related questions and issues with our partners
• Oversee the creation of dashboards and reports to meet contractual requirements to distributors
• Formulate methods to combine disparate datasets in our data environment to provide total audience metrics that align across every access point
• Educate sales and operations teams on measurement best practices and standards
• Work with external partners and internal data engineers to provide subscription data and metrics for channels reseller partners
• Assist in defining consistent data points and KPIs and formulate methods to analyze them across multiple sources and data sets
• Work with distribution team, distributors and vendors to make sure all measurement requirements and contractual obligations are being met
• Collaborate with business data governance leads and privacy teams to ensure compliance with privacy policy and current legislation
• Provide thought leadership around standardization of data collection from multiple sources, as well as API-based data collection methods


What you bring to the team:

You have -
• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years work experience in analytics implementation or consulting, preferably in the media and entertainment vertical
• Experience and implementation expertise with Adobe Analytics (formerly Omniture Site Catalyst) tool or similar analytics platform
• Understanding of the evolving media landscape and modern methods of audience measurement
• Knowledge of syndicated measurement tools such as Nielsen and comScore
• Understanding of web, native app and CTV video measurement technology and standards
• Experience in developing measurement plans and tagging strategies, as well as the ability to QA analytics implementations
• Proven ability to lead a team effectively
• Easily communicate and break down highly complex business problems into simple, feasible solutions
• Client-focused mindset and with experience in a client facing role preferred

You might also have -
• Experience with Adobe Federated Analytics and video heartbeat tracking
• Familiarity with data ingestion, ETL processes and workflows on cloud infrastructure
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, DOMO, etc
• Experience on-boarding new distribution partners
• Agile experience and familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
• History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises, preferably in media industry
• Experience with mobile app and video measurement implementations
