The ideal candidate is highly confident working in Unreal Engine, comfortable creating and modeling assets and understands how to craft optimized graphics, assets, and blueprints for real-time broadcast execution.

You will collaborate closely with creative, editorial, engineering, and production teams to design next-generation virtual environments and weather storytelling tools that elevate how audiences experience the news.
We are open to considering the office location for this position as any one of our CBS O&O stations.

Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality 3D environments and assets using Blender, Cinema 4D and other emerging 3D tools for use in Unreal Engine
• Model, texture, light, and rig assets and environments for AR / VR / XR executions
• Work with creative and production teams to deploy, iterate, test, and refine designs for live broadcast

• Conceptualize and execute new AR/VR features that push visual storytelling forward
• Design and implement animation and control systems to support flexible live production workflows
• Optimize scenes and assets to maintain required real-time performance levels
• Assist in the development and implementation of testing and validation procedures
• Troubleshoot and address technical and creative issues across environments and assets
• Participate in ongoing workflow, pipeline, and toolset enhancements
• Collaborate with editorial, production, and creative teams to enhance news, weather, elections, and special coverage through the unique capabilities of virtual production
• Support station-level execution across CBS Stations; some travel may be required

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in broadcast design, real-time graphics, virtual production, or game development
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of high-quality 3D, AR/VR, or real-time design work
• Proficiency with real-time rendering software, particularly Unreal Engine
• Proficiency in 3D Modeling and Texturing tools; Blender and Cinema4D experience are strongly preferred
• Strong Proficiency in Particle Effect Systems (Niagara), Virtual Lighting, Material Functions, Event-based Logical Functions
• Familiarity with Blueprints, asset optimization, and real-time production constraints
• Demonstrated interest in weather storytelling and data-driven visualization.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with tools such as Substance 3D, ZBrush, or similar design platforms
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to work proficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, live broadcast environment
• Highly collaborative, self-motivated, and comfortable contributing in a creative, evolving production culture
