Senior Executive Producer

Job Description

WPEC CBS 12 in beautiful West Palm Beach, FL has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Executive Producer to join our newsroom team. We're seeking a collaborative leader who understands the importance of production value and flow as well as being able to help our storytellers grow and put together engaging, accurate and relevant newscasts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Oversight of daypart newscasts
• Coordinating Breaking News coverage
• Working with reporters on stories and scripts
• Monitoring rundowns and helping line producers with headlines, teases and showcasing big story elements
• Maintain producer schedules, on-call lists and approval of timecards
• Rotating weekend on-call shift
• Production and oversight of content specials for elections, breaking news, etc
• Assist in managing newsroom staff

The successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
• Five years commercial TV news producing experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Solution-oriented, collaborative, positive attitude
• Deeply engaged in the news on a daily basis
• Ability to be decisive, to listen and to always maintain a professional demeanor
• Comfortable managing people
