The Role

The Trust Accounting Professional requires a pro-active approach and ability to independently carry out the duties of the position. The ideal candidate should exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, good judgment, and an ability to take initiative. The Trust Accounting Professional will make effective independent decisions representing day-to-day issues that do not require team discussion or leadership approval.

Responsibilities
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regularly to ensure complete and accurate booking reports and develop forecasting plans on future collections and payments of client money
• Analyze communication workflows between agents, assistants, studios, attorneys, managers, and the trust accounting team and provide recommendations on how to improve internal/external communications to ensure timely collection and payments of client money
• Identify and lead special projects to support ongoing business growth (e.g. internal control enhancements, process improvement initiatives, maintenance of data and its integrity etc.)
• Conduct training for new agent assistants, including familiarizing them with trust accounting functions
• Resolve all open items where agents, assistants, and trust associates are no longer employed at CAA but resolution is needed
• Receive and resolve escalated collections and payment processing issues for designated business groups
• Ensure all trust accounting transactions are handled according to company policy and maintain CAA's standard of white glove service when interacting with all stakeholders
• Manage the accounts receivable process for assigned business groups
• Audit and approve incoming checks for payment processing
• Audit and approve client statement reports
• Verify and approve the accuracy of outgoing checks and wire transfers
• Review, adjust, and approve third party records
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; 5 + years accounting experience; entertainment industry experience preferred and prior experience in a customer service focused role a plus
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrates analytical ability, good judgment, problem solving, responsibility, personal integrity, and is able to deal with confidential information on a daily basis
• A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, positive professional attitude and demeanor
• Excellent time management, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and anticipate business needs.
• Ability to manage processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organization
• Strong understanding of UX systems and Microsoft Office Suite with advance skills in excel; ability to learn other systems as required

The scope of responsibility includes US Trust Accounting for all line of business

Location

This role is based out of the Los Angeles office.

Compensation: The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $62,400-$88,500. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
