Requirements:
Role & Responsibilities
• Cover a wide range of styles from stylistic to photorealistic
• Shader and texture development will be based heavily on reference artwork, paint overs and look development from the Art Department
• Maintain quality and continuity while developing shaders that support art direction
• Harness tools and technology expertise to ensure all resources are being used most effectively
• Ensure efficiency on all ends by linking performance, consistency, and workflow
• Work effectively and efficiently to meet tight deadlines
• Solve department problems and set best practices with the team lead
• Research new shader development techniques
• Mentor, train and assist junior Look Dev Artists
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience using Maya, Substance, Photoshop, Z-Brush, Mudbox or equivalent
• 2+ years of shader development for Unreal or unity
• Clear understanding of UV's and texture Layout
• Experience with developing and compiling shaders within Unreal
• A foundation in environment art, animation or coding
• Understanding of lighting, particle systems, post-processes, material setup and general workflows inside Unreal Engine
• Experience with writing scripting languages is an asset
