Accounts Payable Clerk (Canada Summer Job)

We are seeking an AP Clerk to join our team for a period of 7 weeks.

Timeline: July 4 2022 - (7 weeks)
Type: 40 hours per week
Salary: CAD $15.65/hr

This position will be under the Canada Summer Job program. For that reason, to be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must be:
• Between 15-30 years old
• Either a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident (international students are not eligible)

Requirements:

Role & Responsibilities
• Match invoices to purchase orders & audit the information for discrepancies;
• Code invoices per purchase orders and/or production budgets;
• Data entry of all invoices and purchase orders;
• Seek approval for invoices, purchase orders, and associated audit reports;
• Run cheques, requisition signatures, and order wire payments;
• Manage production cash position;
• Complete and submit credit applications to new vendors;
• File and scan A/P backup;
• Prepare and submit GST/HST/EHT/WCB/WSIB remittances;
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations;
• Prepare journal entries, and execute data entry once approved;
• Perform any other roles and responsibilities that are typically required by an AP Clerk;
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned in the future.

Qualifications
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Fast and accurate alpha and numeric data entry
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
