Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of New Business Development to lead our dynamic production studio's expansion efforts. As the VP of New Business Development, you will be responsible for driving new revenue, strategic growth, fostering partnerships, and capitalizing on emerging opportunities within the virtual production, content creation and entertainment landscape. Your leadership, industry expertise, and ability to forge impactful relationships will be instrumental in positioning our studio as a global leader in content creation.
Key responsibilities include:
- New Business Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach, inbound leads, networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences. Generate leads, qualify prospects, and drive the entire sales cycle from initial contact to closing deals.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, industry developments, and potential target markets. Analyze competitive landscapes to position the studio effectively and develop strategic plans for business growth.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Understand their needs, challenges, and goals to effectively tailor solutions and establish the studio as a trusted and reliable partner.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the creative and production teams to develop compelling and customized proposals that showcase the studio's capabilities, services, and value proposition. Ensure that proposals align with client objectives and expectations. Develop standard packages and recurring revenue model offerings.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms that protect the studio's interests while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Revenue Forecasting and Reporting: Develop accurate revenue forecasts, track sales metrics, and provide regular progress reports to the executive team. Continuously monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including production, creative, marketing, and finance, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery. Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing to meet client expectations.
- Business Development Team: Build and lead the new business development team.
Required Experience:
- Proven track record of at least 5 years of successful business development experience in the entertainment, media, or production industry.
- Strong understanding of the production process, media distribution, and industry dynamics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in CRM software and sales tracking tools.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to travel for client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
