Job Description
The Community Moderator is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming sports community throughout B/R. Bleacher Reports' Moderation team does this by keeping the site's comment sections clean of trolls, spam, and abusive, harmful, hateful, or violent content while ensuring that users and community captains understand how to use B/R and its many features. Daily responsibilities primarily include:
• Reviewing and moderating comments, polls, and content posted on B/R which are flagged through users and system automations
• Suspending or revoking commenting privileges from users who violate the site's Community Guidelines
• Monitoring and responding to tickets related to account issues and appeal processes
• Monitoring and responding to moderation alerts from the editorial/programming teams, reporting any potential issues to the appropriate departments

Successful candidates will possess the right balance of prior community moderation experience, major US and global sports expertise, boundless positive energy, and exceptional communication skills.

This is a full-time position; Telecommuting is an option for candidates. The position requires a flexible work schedule, including the ability to work primarily nights and weekends.

Required skills/experience:
• One year of community moderation (or related) experience (online dispute resolution, user support, etc.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with all forms of digital and social media
• Positive attitude, patient demeanor and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Ability to multi-task without sacrificing attention to detail
• Expert knowledge of the major US and global sports covered by Bleacher Report
• Proficiency with the following resources: Bleacher Report, Microsoft Office Suite, Zendesk, and Discord

Preferred skills/experience:
• Experience with product rollouts and frontline communication of changes/issues to/from users
• Prior writing experience in sports journalism
