JOB DESCRIPTION

The Big Ten Network is looking for a Transmission Operator to join their team in Chicago, IL. As the Transmission Operator, you will work with Operations, Production, Remote, and Engineering staff in the downlinking and feeding of events, pressers, hits, and other media. Your responsibilities will include downlinking HD satellite feeds, communicating and troubleshooting with on- site remote technical personnel regarding the video and audio integrity of feeds, and faxing technical equipment before air and/or stream. You may also be a remote camera operator for live and recorded talkbacks and live shots via IP feeds. Additionally, you will work closely with Studio Production for live studio broadcasts from the production facility assisting with asset organization, scheduling of resources, and requesting feeds and/or route outs.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Downlink and fax Satellite, Fiber, IP, Remote, and Studio feeds
• Map daily Assets for Optimal Efficiency of Resources
• Collaborate with Supervisor Regarding Inbound and Outbound Feed Schedules and Bookings
• Work with Supervisor in Creating and Maintaining Transmission/Ingest SOP's
• Restore and archive Electronic Media/Media Management backup
• AP coding

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 4+ years Transmission, Ingest and/or Related Experience
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and have a solid understanding of technical terminology
• Technical knowledge of HD Satellite and Digital Parameters, Fiber, Routers, Waveform, Vector scope, Switcher, proper Audio and Video levels, Digital Media, Ingesting Media, etc.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays
