Job Description

Bentkey Ventures (The Daily Wire) is looking for an Editor & Colorist to join our Editorial team in the production division. As a member of the Editing team in the Bentkey Ventures Production department, the Editor will take raw video footage from various Daily Wire / Bentkey Ventures production projects and use his or her editing skills, creative intuition, and application of BKV editing standards to fulfill the creative vision of the heads of Production and Manager of the Editing Department.If you feel you are the right fit for this position, we look forward to hearing from you!

Responsibilities:

· Edit various creative and promotional video content

· Deliver high-quality material on time, on budget, and in an efficient manner

· Collaborate and communicate with Director of Production, Producers, and Manager of the Editing Department in editing sessions to implement creative notes

· Creatively support and emphasize subject matter in videos through compelling editing and storytelling

· Edit videos in multi-cam editing project configuration

· Create assembly edits, string-outs, and finishing edits with precision

· Edit and customize videos for various digital-video formats

· Color correct and color grade select projects with various codec types using Davinci Resolve

· Create and routinely update Adobe project templates

· Organize and prepare footage and deliverables for each assigned project

· Convert, transcode, and compress media for post-production workflow

· Prepare OMFs and AAFs for the Audio department

· Communicate and collaborate with team members and supervisors

· Complete various post-production related tasks

· Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Requirements:

· 4+ years previous work experience in Post-Production

· Strong visual sensibility and sense of pacing

· Strong understanding of the color correction process

· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud apps, particularly Premiere Pro

· Proficiency in Davinci Resolve

· Understanding of transitioning projects between different software programs, especially going between Davinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro

· Working knowledge of export settings, such as bitrate, codec, and frame rate, for deliverables

· Knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop, particularly for basic motion graphic creation

· Comfortable with 4K resolution file workflows

· Comfortable and familiar with projects being worked on simultaneously by other Editors

· Ability to maintain multiple ongoing projects at once

· Ability to understand and apply notes given from management

· Maintain a positive attitude that promotes a healthy work environment

· Comfortable working under tight deadlines

· Knowledge of digital media including codec, image types, resolutions, and frame rates

· Strong organizational skills

· Working knowledge of video production is a plus

· Basic audio mixing experience

Reports to: Manager of the Editing Department

Start date: Immediate

Employment type: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $23-$25 hourly; Dependent upon experience
