Production Assistant
Overview
KCBS All News Radio, the Bay Area's #1 news station, is looking for motivated individuals for PART TIME opportunities as newsroom Production Assistants. The job of a Production Assistant is to assist the KCBS multimedia news operation in all aspects of delivering news and information to Northern California. We're looking for candidates who are digitally savvy, can multi-task in a fast paced work environment, and can demonstrate a passion for news and telling compelling news stories.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Production Assistants handle the phones: speaking to reporters, listeners, news sources and newsmakers. Production Assistants also help support reporters, writers, and producers with news research, recording audio events, recording audio interviews, editing audio, and uploading content. Successful candidates will be expected to have a skill for working under pressure with attention to detail in a deadline environment. Production Assistants also work with news management on long form coverage, special projects. Successful candidates will be required to understand the KCBS brand and all aspects of the news product that we deliver.
Qualifications
More About You:
• Successful candidates must have a passion for local news and must be interested in learning how to identify and tell compelling stories.
• Must have excellent communication skills and phone skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Experience in audio editing.
• Excellent writing and interviewing skills.
Required & Preferred:
• Bachelor's Degree required; communications/journalism preferred.
Additional Information
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated starting salary range for California based individuals expressing interest in this position is $17.25/Hr to $17.25/Hr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
