Overview

WWJ Newsradio 950 is looking for a part-time news producer, editor, reporter, and anchor to join our award-winning news team. You MUST be available to work on weekends and nights. Responsibilities include producing newscasts, writing news stories under deadline, editing audio, and pursuing story ideas, news tips, and other news information.

Responsibilities

What you'll do :
- produce newscasts
- write news stories, sometimes under extreme deadline
- edit audio
- pursue story ideas, news tips, and other news information
- manage and assign stories to reporters
- cover stories in the community
- anchor newscasts when needed Qualifications

Qualifications include:
- broadcast experience
- available to work weekends, evenings/nights and various shifts
- excellent writing skills
- manage multiple stories/events at one time; multi task
- be aggressive in searching for information and stories
- team player who works well with others while also leading a team of newsroom personnel
- strong computer skills
- presence on social media and knowledge of using social media to find stories
- familiarity with Detroit, metro Detroit, and Michigan
- required to join SAG union
