KNX News - PT Traffic Reporter
Overview
KNX News, Southern California's only 24/7 local audio newsroom, is looking for a dynamic, talented, and experienced professional to work in a fast-paced environment as a traffic reporter/producer. Duties include gathering traffic information from multiple sources in real time and delivering comprehensive traffic reports on the radio as well as KNX News's digital platforms and social media.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver live traffic reports every ten minutes on over-the-air and digital platforms
On-air duties may include live reporting of news events (i.e. major accidents/closures, pursuits, natural and man-made disasters, etc.) and delivering timely news content as directed by newsroom management and news editors.
Monitor and compile information from traffic-gathering data assets (i.e. traffic camera imagery, scanners, Dataminr, social media, etc.)
Deliver compelling live reads of traffic sponsorships within designated reports
Other duties as required by management
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Comprehensive knowledge of Los Angeles and Southern California-area traffic geography and transportation systems
Minimum 2 years of traffic or news reporting in the Los Angeles market
Literacy and comfort level with existing and emerging digital technology
Ability to balance multiple duties and monitor multiple sources in real time
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Conversational, engaging, dynamic delivery
4-year degree preferred
Position offers SAG-AFTRA Benefits and applicant must be willing to join SAG AFTRA
A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
Additional Information
Pay Transparency: The anticipated starting salary range for California based individuals expressing interest in this position is $21.19/hr to $31.44/hr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
