Anchor/Reporter (Part-Time/KMOX)
Overview

KMOX is looking for a compelling community-minded storyteller to anchor live weekend newscasts and find news stories. This person needs to be an independent worker, who can produce their own newscast, read a log and time the newscast plus enterprise news stories. This position also calls for web writing and social media savvy. To be a part of our award winning newsroom you need to be up on local and national news. You'll need a critical eye and a flexible schedule- must be willing to work holidays and weekends. Please note there will be opportunity for weekday reporting and fill-in anchor hours as well.​

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
• Write, produce and time hourly live newscasts on KMOX
• Learn to run your own audio board
• Go live when there is breaking news both on the radio and online
• Write a web story and share content on social media
• Must have a flexible schedule - be willing to work holidays and weekends
• 2 years' experience with broadcast news and understanding of social media use/impact required

Qualifications

About You:
• Solid writing skills and news judgement
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Close attention to detail and problem solving
• 2+ years experience with broadcast news and understanding of social media use/impact
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and proof of insurance to be able to drive to a news story
