Simon and Schuster is looking for an Editorial Assistant for Atria Books. Reporting to one Senior Editor and two Editors, responsibilities include reviewing manuscripts; communicating with authors and agents by phone and email; drafting sales copy; providing supervised editorial support; organizing schedules and meetings; general administrative duties; and expense tracking. Must be able to work independently, confidentially, and professionally in a fast-paced office environment with high volume. The ideal candidate possesses strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and has strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational and follow-through skills and an attention to detail and deadlines are necessary.
Demonstrated interest in upmarket fiction (including suspense and rom-coms) and narrative non-fiction (pop culture, current events) highly preferred.
