Simon & Schuster is looking for an Editorial Assistant for Atria Books. Reporting to two Senior Editors who specialize in non-fiction, the responsibilities include reviewing manuscripts; general administrative duties; communicating with authors and agents by phone and email; drafting sales copy; organizing schedules and meetings; and expense tracking.
Must be reliable, organized, and flexible.
Be able to work independently, confidentially, and professionally in a fast-paced office environment.
Possess strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication abilities.
Demonstrated strong familiarity and passion for popular contemporary non-fiction titles.
Excellent organizational and follow-through skills and an attention to detail and deadlines are necessary.
Demonstrated interest in pop culture, current events, big idea books, and narrative non-fiction preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The annual salary for this position is $50,000.00 - $50,000.00
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
