Job Description:
ASCAP seeks a Project Manager, Events and Marketing professional with expertise in ''experiential marketing,'' to plan, manage, and execute a variety of innovative, engaging and culturally relevant events both virtually and IRL [in-real-life]). A passion for music and prior experience with award shows and educational/member events a huge plus.
The Project Manager, Events and Marketing will be responsible for driving brand awareness for ASCAP and our members. This will be achieved by translating ASCAP's marketing objectives into high-quality events and experiences that honor and celebrate our members, attract new ones, build love, and loyalty of the brand.
This position requires someone who is self-motivated, internally driven, and intellectually curious. A person who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, and willing to go the extra mile. Prioritization, good judgement, and the ability to multi-task are essential. The role is office based and will be located in our NYC corporate office.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
• Coordinate and manage timelines, milestones requests for all membership events including, ASCAP Awards, ASCAP Experience, OTCU, Check it Out, Women Behind the Music and so on.
• Collaborate with design, editorial, membership, and social media teams on all creative deliverables.
• Collaborate with membership, marketing and communications, finance, legal, and executive team on project planning.
Event Coordination
• Manage a variety of ASCAP events and programs, including, core awards, B2B, artist/client hospitality, internal events, industry events.
• Research, vet, and make recommendations on venues, vendors and producers.
• Research and track all competitive events.
• Utilize digital event platforms, such as YouTube, Bizzabo, etc.
• Collaborate with design team on signage, lighting, event flow, ROS, SOWs for partners, staging, hospitality, activations, premiums, F&B, staging, sound production to maintain brand consistency.
• Manage speaker releases, legal clearances, approvals, etc.
• Stay current on CDC/COVID rules in applicable counties to ensure compliance.
Experiential Marketing:
• Create and deploy e-vites, (e.g., Paperless post, Eventbrite and others) and email marketing campaigns (understanding of basic HTML huge plus!)
• Help develop social media campaigns for various events from ideation through execution.
• Update event websites as needed.
Budget, Finances, Other:
• Support the management and maintenance of the budget.
• Manage all invoices and be the direct liaison with the finance team.
• Assist SVP with all departmental functions including calendar management.
Qualifications
• At least 3+ years experience in ''experiential'' event marketing and planning and digital marketing
• Ability to travel.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Google Workplace, Go.ogle Analytics, and common industry digital media platforms.
• Understanding of the music industry (preferred)
• Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment with the ability to anticipate project needs and executive management requests:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, including accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects, hit all deliverables, while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Passionate about experiential marketing, the music industry and a desire to change the world with us.
