Master Scheduler

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining production schedules. The Master Scheduler will be the expert on production schedules and be able to effectively communicate goals and plans with customers, venders, and employees. This position requires a holistic understanding of the overall business, project goals and targets, while also tracking details to monitor project health, identify and mitigate risk, and resolve issues as they arise. The ideal candidate is proficient with Microsoft Project and highly proficient with forecasting, operations planning, financial/budget analysis, and general project management.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership in managing people, infrastructure, and facilities
• Set priorities and manage the workload of department staff
• Manage operation budgets and reporting
• Manage and track supplies and inventory
• Plan and facilitate effective meetings
• Implement changes and new systems within the department to facilitate growth
• Engage staff in defining and using best-practice tools and methodology
• Maintain compliance with Animax policies, contractual obligations, and all applicable laws
• Assess and determine staffing needs
• Set cost and labor estimates during bid and planning phases
• Create strategy, goals, and plans for the team as appropriate
• Supervise staff activities and progress
• Act as a moderator or liaison and know when to seek assistance in resolving conflict
• Collaborate and share information with other members and groups across the organization
• Demonstrate knowledge within the department’s functional area necessary to make decisions, supervise work and answer questions
• Embrace continuous learning and self-development, involving aspects pertaining to the department itself and the greater organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience;
• 5-10 years of direct scheduling experience with extensive demonstrated success of implementing & operationalizing master schedules.
• Proficiency with software tools including but not limited to Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Project Web App, Project Web App Administration
• Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities
• Proven leadership skills
• Ability to deal with stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere
• Ability to address and communicate issues quickly and effectively
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Entertainment industry experience
• Experience with highly complex, engineered solutions
• Knowledge of project accounting, including earned value management, WIP schedules and AIA documents
• Hands-on knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques including machine part/metalworking, electrical & controls, fiberglass/composites, sculpting and soft skin systems
• Familiarity with contracts and scope specifications
