Assistant Production Accountant - Facility

Animal Logic - an award-winning feature animation studio - is searching for a new team member to join our Production Finance Department in Vancouver! The Assistant Production Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and distribution of all project-related reports and information within the department. The successful candidate will also be maintaining the data contained within the timesheet system, and ensuring the information output is accurate and can be used by the team.

What you'll get to do:
• Ensuring timesheet data is submitted and approved in a timely manner
• Review of timesheet data for completion and accuracy
• Prepare timesheet reports by project
• Maintain employee profiles in timesheet system
• Update Vacation and Time Off in Lieu reports by project.
• Collect and organize invoices and support for production expenses
• Review of production expenses for eligibility and accuracy
• Allocate production expenses to productions
• Maintain monthly general ledger reconciliations as required
• Use timesheet data to allocate payroll to projects
• Collect support for any payroll adjustments
• Track contract dates and invoices of production contractors
• Assist corporate finance team with administrative and accounts payable tasks as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly billing files
• Assist the Lead Production Accountant in producing weekly and monthly reports and forecasts for major projects as required
• Assemble production binders with support for monthly billings
• Provide support to the production management team on project financial matters.
• Generate invoices for distribution to clients
• Prepare monthly invoice summary
• Enter cash receipts in the finance system.

What you bring:
• 1+ years' experience in Accounting or Finance
• Bachelors' degree with accounting focus
• Intermediate Excel proficiency
• Strong attention to detail
• Superior organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team
• Ability to work smart and calmly under pressure to achieve deadlines
• Ability to multi-task and quickly prioritize duties
• Flexibility and dedication to work extra hours when required.
