Art Director

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Art Director to work within Animal Logic's art department on an animated feature! As the Art Director, you will be responsible for the design and execution of all design requirements for the project through each production department and craft.

What you'll get to do:
• Drive and manage the creative development of all design requests.
• Research and source as required any imagery and documentation to help with communicating the visual direction required.
• Prepare creative briefing packages for artists related to 3D designs.
• Produce quick sketch ideas, layouts and iterations to inform on intent.
• Work with other craft supervisors to collaborate and make sure all artistic interpretations are consistent with the project's creative objectives.
• Participate in Director Art reviews and presentations as well as design meetings, and give feedback that maintains the visual direction defined.
• Prioritize, problem solve, and multi-task to complete production to schedule.
• Provide leadership and work with production and Artist Management to develop the skills and abilities of all digital artists in their team.

What you'll bring:
• 7+ years' experience in feature film, television, or animated feature with a focus in Art & Design
• Experience in a leadership/management capacity in Animation or VFX
• Proficiency demonstrated through past project work and/or reel/portfolio.
• Experience at a senior level interpreting and defining creative briefs, supervising artists and process to achieve specific outcomes.
• The ability to produce visual representations of intended outcomes from thorough research and creating artwork.
• A skill base that includes a thorough understanding through experience, of the film industry and digital animation production.
• The ability to work to deadlines, work well under pressure lead others and work well in a team environment.
• Ability to effectively work and communicate with all personality types.
• Excellence in problem solving and balancing quick turnaround with long term quality.
