We want to help our customers discover up-and-coming artists, while also having access to their favorite established musicians. We build systems that are distributed on a large scale, spanning our music apps, web player, and voice-forward audio engagement on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa to support our customer base. Amazon Music offerings are available in countries around the world, and our applications support our mission of delivering music to customers in new and exciting ways that enhance their day-to-day lives.
We are looking for an experienced Label Relations Manager to build and maintain strong relationships with partners in the Japanese music industry. In this role, you will deliver large-scale marketing campaigns, original content, live events and other innovate promotional ideas that benefit artists and Amazon Music customers. You will contribute to develop strong relationships to drive awareness, engagement and acquisition for key strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate will be well-connected in the Japanese music industry, have an entrepreneurial attitude, and a track record of delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Manage relationships with music labels and artist agencies to create unique opportunities for artist-focused promotions.
• Develop and propose creative marketing packages for artists in collaboration with Marketing, Editorial and Programming teams.
• Act as Amazon's ambassador among music labels, artist agencies, and the broader artist community, educating them through presentations and product demonstrations.
• Facilitate productive discussions between internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform strategic planning.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in a function involving sales, client relations & account management, business development, marketing and/or deal-making.
• Language skills in both English and Japanese (verbal and written).
• A proven track record of setting and exceeding aggressive goals; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment.
• Proven ability to influence others with external label partners, artist managers and artist agencies.
• Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management and meeting deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
• Extensive network across the Japanese music industry
• Knowledge of the music landscape in Japan, including music services, business models, and content restrictions.
• Relentlessly high standards and a high attention to detail.
