The Data, Insights, Science and Optimization, Consumer Product & Technology (DISCO CPT) team is looking for a Senior Manager Data Science to lead a team of Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Engineers who analyze big data, provide analytics and insights as well as build models and algorithms that power attribution, personalization and experimentation. The DISCO CPT team enables the Consumer Product Technology organization to make data driven decisions that improve customer retention, engagement and experience on Amazon Music. We build and maintain automated self-service data solutions, data science models and deep dive difficult questions that provide actionable insights. We also enable measurement, personalization and experimentation by operating key data programs ranging from attribution pipelines to causal frameworks. In this role, you will set the vision and direction for the team and collaborate with internal stakeholders across marketing, growth, product, science and finance teams to scale and advance our science and analytics offerings.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead and provide coaching to a team of Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Engineers
• Partner with Engineering, Product and Machine Learning leaders to develop data-driven business strategy
• Deliver insights and recommendations to help shape strategy across Amazon Music consumer product domains
• Lead research and development of models and science products powering personalization and experimentation
• Scale self-service analytics and insights offerings
• Partner with science, marketing and product teams across Amazon entertainment and subscription businesses
• Educate and evangelize across internal teams on analytics, insights and measurement by writing whitepapers, knowledge documentation and delivering learning sessions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• MS degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Data Mining, or other quantitative field
• 8+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence or other quantitative disciplines and a degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline
• 4+ years of analytical people management experience
• Demonstrated experience developing successful analytics-based solutions to business problems
• Familiarity with probability, probability distributions, statistics and causal inference
• Knowledge of various machine learning techniques and key parameters that affect their performance
• Experience with data scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, or Matlab)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Expertise in estimation, experimental design, hypothesis and A/B testing
• Ability to work cross-functionally and with others with diverse skill sets
• Experience with writing academic-styled papers for presenting both the methodologies used and results for data science projects
• Ph.D. in Science, Engineering, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative fields
• Knowledge of data warehouse and AWS services
• A passion for music!
