Your Mission
As a Senior VFX Artist, you will report directly to our Lead FX Artist. The ideal candidate is an artist/magician/pyromaniac/tech-head who can build astounding visual FX.
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Create amazing yet efficient in-game particle and geometric VFX using proprietary tools as well as Maya and Photoshop
• Work with level artists, level designers, character designers, and programmers to implement and troubleshoot FX
• Build art assets that demonstrate advanced techniques
• Be a proactive problem solver with a solid grasp of art and design principles
Player Profile
Minimum Requirements:
• 5 + years of experience in VFX for games
• Strong experience working with real-time particle engines and geometric FX as demonstrated by a strong portfolio
• Strong understanding of color, composition, and timing
• Texture creation expertise by hand, photos, or other packages
• Good modeling, UV-ing, rigging and animating skills
• Solid understanding of art pipelines and how to get the most out of them
• Strong communication skills, self-motivated, and a great teammate
• Flexibility with the adoption of art styles and direction
• Sets priorities and plans with a realistic sense of the time demand involved
• Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight
• Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations
Bonus Experience:
• Deep understanding of timing, scale, color, composition, motion and physics for visual effects
• Cascade, Maya, Photoshop and After Effects experience
• Shipped one or more AAA titles
• Scripting or programming experience
• Solid understanding of art pipelines and how to get the most out of them
• Experience working among art, design, and engineering departments
• Motivated and driven to face challenges and be a problem solver
• Texture creation expertise, either 2D painting, photosource or 3D renders
• Modeling and UVmap understanding
• BS/BA/BFA degree in graphic design, fine arts, digital arts or similar
