Your Mission

Activision Blizzard's corporate editorial content team has an immediate opening for an experienced, business-oriented writer and storyteller, who is passionate about helping shape our messaging around company-level initiatives. Working closely with Corporate COMMS, Internal COMMS and the Business Unit teams, the senior editor will contribute to the corporate communications strategy and have primary responsibility for driving compelling narratives that help to translate and celebrate the joy, connectedness, and impact of gaming and interactive entertainment, with non-player audiences. This person will also collaborate with Activision Blizzard's various player community leads to unearth and spotlight player stories while also using storytelling to introduce the world of Activision Blizzard and King games to new audiences.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a skilled communicator-someone who is articulate, an extraordinary writer and storyteller – with great instincts for shaping content at speed and working on multiple deliverables at once.

We are looking for someone who is well-informed on the company's portfolio of games, is passionate about expanding the tent and inviting new players in, understands communication trends, and can relay a style and tone that captures the excitement of an organization like Activision Blizzard, a company that consistently delivers epic entertainment experiences to hundreds of millions of people and fans around the world.

The Senior Editor of Corporate Content should have an eye for quality and a portfolio of work to back it up.

Major Responsibilities:
• Build trust and collaborate with player community leads to develop a repeatable process to spotlight and tell interesting stories from within the player communities
• Find interesting ways to bring our portfolio of games to life with non-player audiences, and possibly inspire them to start playing
• Develop content to help demystify the allure of esports for new audiences
• Mine for stories that are developed for player audiences at specific franchises and repurpose them for corporate audiences, as appropriate
• Collaborate with various internal player-focused teams (Accessibility, Player Insights, DE&I and so on), to develop BTS content that sheds light on the company's investments and efforts to enhance the player experience
• Work with Corporate PR and BU Comms Teams, among others, to profile individuals and teams that are working on key industry issues – Toxicity, Representation, Privacy and Security, Responsible AI, Sustainability, and so on
• Write, edit, proof, fact-check, and polish a variety of business-oriented communications with a relentless focus on quality
• Work closely with the Marketing and Creative Teams to share the stories of creative activations around game launches and other key moments
• Interview subject matter experts to gather information for individual or team profiles to spotlight our talent and represent diverse voices
• Additional projects and duties as assigned

Player Profile:
• B.A. in English or journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years editorial, PR, journalism, or marketing communications experience
• Ability to work quickly, under deadline pressures, at a high-quality level
• Working knowledge of Activision Blizzard's portfolio of games and esports
• Experience using style and grammar references, including Chicago Manual of Style
• Ability to focus and multitask in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision
• Ability to exercise good independent judgment and discretion
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
