Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a talented Principal Online Programmer to join our team and help shape the foundation of our next-generation AAA experiences on our new IP.
You will drive innovation developing the multiplayer components of our engine and workflows, focusing on performance, scalability, and rapid iteration. You will collaborate with gameplay and design teams in order to push boundaries of what's possible in online games.
You'll help us…
• Architect and implement high performance network code solutions for client and server game logic
• Develop networking code to interact with backend systems and online services
• Partner with the engineering and design teams to build networked gameplay systems
• Optimize and debug game network traffic
• Provide insight and mentorship to gameplay engineering teams on best practices for use of online systems you build and support
You're awesome because you have…
• Excellent C++ programming skills - at least 10 years experience in networked games or equivalent.
• Excellent debugging and performance analysis skills within a networked environment.
• A proven track record of contributing to multiple shipped AAA games.
• Experience in other areas of video game technology.
• Experience with multi-platform development, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and network protocol design/implementation
• Proficiency in database modeling and access libraries
• Experience with instrumentation and telemetry
Bonus points for…
• Experience in building backend services for videogames or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills and experience coordinating with distributed development studios
• Experience with live ops development and operation
• Experience with gameplay networking techniques.

In the US, the standard base pay range for this role is $167,500.00 - $309,876.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all US locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
