Your Mission
The Marketing Manager role will be responsible for Blizzard franchises in the Southern Region of Europe with focus on France, but inclusive of Benelux, Spain & Italy. This role is for someone who has demonstrated experience as a leader without hierarchy of high-functioning cross-discipline territory marketing teams. Collaborating & information sharing with cross functional teams is critical. They have a deep understanding of marketing strategy and branding, but also a keen appreciation of the role community, PR, creative, and development teams play in creating world-class player experiences.
They will tailor and execute the EMEA Publishing and product positioning plans for Blizzard games with local nuances, develop creative campaigns, and shape long-term publishing strategy in the EMEA Southern region markets. Most importantly, they have a huge well of empathy for players because they are players themselves.
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
• Brand Strategy and insight development: Work with EMEA publishing, Business Insights and Analytics teams, partners and keep up with trends from public sources to unearth local insights for industry leading brand strategy planning and executions. Become the voice of the player internally sharing player sentiment towards managed products and surfacing product-specific barriers to acquire and retain players.
• Budget Ownership: Responsible for the management of an allocated variable sales and marketing budget. Able to build, manage, maintain and explain budget allocations and rationale to internal stakeholders.
• Leading market campaign planning, local 3rd party brand partnerships, local 1st party console marketing planning, local consumer event planning to deliver high-value activations that connect and resonate with local audiences. Partnering with specialist teams on local PR plans, media and social.
• Results Driven Decision Making: Develop sound KPIs for planned executions and work with relevant internal functions (FP&A, Insights & Analytics and Commercial) to assess effectiveness of campaigns and connect to overall business priorities.
• Internal Stakeholder Management: Present marketing strategies and plans to key stakeholders within EMEA, International teams and Blizzard headquarters. Lead routines for the Southern markets team and collaborate with PR/Communications, social, consumer marketing and franchise publishing functions to create scalable integrated marketing opportunities for managed brands.
• End to end execution: Ability to lead cross functional teams to achieve overarching brand objectives through from design phase to physical execution of launch.
• Support marketing asset localization and delivery of local initiatives to support global campaigns, where required.
Player Profile
• Strong communication skills in both French & English are essential.
• Extensive, relevant experience in publishing, marketing, product management or strategic planning.
• A Degree level education relevant to the experience required for the role is a plus.
• Skilled at project management, to proactively bring initiatives and deliverables to completion and resolve obstacles effectively and with a sense of urgency by yourself.
• Knowledge of the video gaming industry and broad understanding of channels like social media, commercial models, genre and format nuances across console, PC and mobile.
• Data and consumer insight driven decision maker.
• Passion for games, particularly Blizzard franchises.
• Brave & bold mindset: Willing to push creative boundaries to test and learn new initiatives in the pursuit of reaching players to surprise and delight the target audience with culturally resonant activations.
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and regions, from specialists to senior levels in a matrix organization.
• Decisive, intelligent, and confident with a commitment to making the most epic entertainment experiences of all time within the context of providing high-quality service to our players in the region.
• Attention to detail is essential, as is completing all tasks with the highest level of quality.
