IT Manager

Job Description

The role will be based out of Manchester, United Kingdom per fall 2022.

Your Mission

Activision Central Tech is looking for a hands-on and highly motivated IT Manager to join our team and help oversee all our IT operations in the UK and EU regions. The role will be based out of Manchester, United Kingdom and will report to the Sr. IT Manager in the US. It will be essential in this role to be able to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, studio environment. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to lead and communicate effectively with a wide variety of teams and users.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Manage all IT operations across multiple offices and data centers in the UK and EU
• Design, install and maintain small and large scale data center projects
• Lead site projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders including Global IT
• Troubleshoot issues with on-prem servers and storage as well as VMs and cloud services
• Provide guidance to help resolve scaling and stability issues
• Partner and collaborate with other functions including Help Desk and Engineering to ensure all IT-related requests are accounted for
• Work with vendors on procurements including servers, storage, software and network equipment
• Manage all hardware and software assets
• Track system lifecycles and plan on refreshes, decommissions, etc. while staying aligned with budgets
• Provide technical documentation for configurations and procedures
• Develop strategies and provide leadership for IT-related projects that include office build outs, infrastructure installations and system upgrades
• Provide mentorship to help the development and growth of the team

Experience
• 10+ years experience in IT
• 3+ years managing a team in a leadership role and/or demonstrated ability to manage small and large scale projects
• Experience with infrastructure build outs including new offices and data centers
• Thorough understanding of office and data center build out requirements (space, power, cooling, low voltage, etc.)
• Experience managing servers including Dell, HPE and Supermicro
• Experience with technologies including virtualization, containerization, scaling (KVM, Docker, etc.)
• Experience managing file, block and object storage architectures (NetApp, Isilon, etc.)
• Experience managing projects and IT service management in Jira and contributing to documentation in Confluence

• Experience working and supporting a studio game dev environment
• Experience with game development kits
• Experience with game development applications and tools (Perforce, Autodesk, Adobe Creative Cloud)
• Experience with configuring and managing Juniper network switches
• Experience with DCIM tools for space utilization and planning (dcTrack, NetBox, etc.)
• Experience with automation and scripting
